新北市貢寮區福隆街2號
Fulong Station may be the most fragrant stop on the Taiwan Railways network; the moment you step off the train you’re greeted by the mouth-watering aroma of lunchboxes. On weekends it’s common to see visitors clutching their boxed meals, happily tucking in while seated on the station steps. Fulong is a favorite summer getaway in northern Taiwan. As early as the Japanese colonial period it was already a renowned beach resort. Here the Shuangxi River meets the sea, creating a unique “inner river, outer sea” landscape linked by a graceful crescent-shaped footbridge. The broad, calm inner waterway is perfect for sailing, canoeing, swimming, and other water sports. From May to June the Fulong International Sand Sculpture Festival (which includes an accessible boardwalk) draws huge crowds, while the July Hohaiyan Gongliao Rock Festival pulls in music lovers. Cyclists eager to tackle the Old Caoling Loop can rent bikes here and ride with the wind, taking in the scenery along the way.
