"Shipaikeng" is a wild mountain stream next to the Four-Faced Buddha Temple; it flows year-round, and its river environment boasts rich animal and plant life plus distinctive stratified rock formations. Using ecological engineering, the Water Resources Agency preserved the stream’s meanders to protect biodiversity and built about 1.1 km of waterside ecological trail. Along the way you can hear birds and insects and see swallowtails, whites, Caridina shrimp, freshwater crabs, tree frogs, giant wood spiders and more, experiencing an undisturbed, tranquil nature. Visitors park at the Four-Faced Buddha Temple lot (motorcycles, cars, tour buses), walk about 200 m to the trailhead, and must retrace their steps after reaching the end. The trail is mostly level with interpretive signs along the way; local groups offer guided walks, making it ideal for family ecological education.
