Taichung City Fiber Arts Museum is the first municipal public museum in Taichung and the nation's first professional museum dedicated to fibers. Integrating Taiwan's cultural context and natural resources, the museum is built on four major categories of artifacts—Han Chinese, indigenous Taiwanese, minority peoples from southwest China, and contemporary creations—serving as a craft platform that bridges fiber artists with cultural relics, preserving fiber‑craft culture. The museum’s mission, “Fiber • Fashion • Green Craft,” upholds the four core museum functions of collection, research, exhibition, and education. Its collection of over 1,200 fiber artifacts, each of historical, cultural, and artistic value, offers rich substance and combines both form and function, shared with the public. Through innovative experiments, the museum facilitates dialogue between craft and art, revitalizing traditional techniques and shaping new expressions in contemporary society.
