The Sanxia Arch Bridge, along with the Grand Buddha Temple, is a unique landscape feature of Sanxia. Construction of the bridge began on October 7, 1932, during the Japanese colonial period, and it was completed on June 28, 1933. It served as an important passage for external traffic at that time. Standing on the arch bridge, one can observe the natural environmental characteristics of Sanxia. Under the bridge flows the Sanxia Stream, a very important waterway in the area. Looking upstream, one can see the majestic Yuanshan Mountain. To the right, where the buildings are densely concentrated, lies the central market area of Sanxia. The bridge's design is inspired by three connected rainbows, hence it is also known as the Rainbow Bridge. With its elegant and simple exterior, it was once the main road connecting Sanxia to the outside world. Although its prominence faded with the decline of water transportation, the bridge still exudes a timeless charm, especially at night when illuminated, appearing as three glowing rainbows that brighten up the entire Sanxia district, radiating a unique, ancient beauty.
