The predecessor of Jinmen University was the Jinmen branch of the affiliated vocational division of the National Kaohsiung Institute of Science and Technology, established in 1997. The main campus is located in Jinning Township, Jinmen County, covering an area of approximately 14 hectares. Currently, the university comprises 4 colleges, 17 departments, 12 master's programs in graduate schools, and 2 part-time master's programs for working professionals. The academic programs offered include four-year university bachelor's programs, continuing education division, master's programs, and part-time master's programs.
