The Kinmen County Agricultural Experiment Station was established in 1952, with major responsibilities including experimental research on vegetables, melons and fruits, ornamental plants, and the propagation of superior seed varieties. In 1997, the agency transformed toward planning a natural ecological and educational park, creating multi-objective agricultural management, introducing tourism and recreational activities, and providing education and environmental improvements. In recent years, the Kinmen County Agricultural Experiment Station has actively revitalized idle spaces, aiming to integrate production, living, ecology, and sustainable life. The station has restructured the dilapidated conservation center into a "Wellness Agriculture Experience Hall - Hands-on Classroom." Planned features will include the integration of rural elements to exhibit local agricultural products and agricultural experience-learning items, innovating the depth of tourism in the eastern peninsula and creating new photography highlights for experiential tourism. The station frequently creates "flower seas" to attract tourists and has planned facilities such as barbecue pit areas, Eurasian otter habitats, Houlong Creek water-based recreational zones, ecological detention ponds, and flower corridors. The plants within the area change with the seasons, creating an excellent environment that attracts fireflies, cicadas, and various bird species. The barbecue pit area has 28 barbecue zones, each accommodating about 10 people, with seating and round pits provided. Visitors may bring their own fuel and ingredients to enjoy the rural lifestyle experience. The Huanpo Grass Sliding Zone features a scenic platform, seating, and other facilities. Visitors may bring their own grass sliding gear to enjoy the sliding activities.
