The Back Garden of Taipei—Shiding District, summer of 1993, when the founder of Shiding Magao Sausage, Xu Shihong, was frantically working on developing various types of sausages, he accidentally knocked over the Magao ingredients and ground them into a powder, spilling them into the sausage mixture that had already been seasoned but still was not yet satisfactory. The old boss was deeply frustrated, but he could not bear to waste the ingredients. With a restless heart, he still turned it into a finished product for his family’s dinner. At that moment, an accidental mishap created a product with a unique texture and remarkable aroma—Magao sausage. It has a soft yet firm bite, with a fresh, cool sensation, like the marvelous coolness of eating ice cream in summer. The Magao sausage truly is a beautiful mistake! This accident introduced a whole new concept of healthy sausage to everyone, and the “Shiding Magao Sausage” was born.
