⚠️ Temporarily closed due to strong winds ⚠️ The entrance to the Shuishe Dashan hiking trail is located next to the dining hall of the Sun Moon Lake Youth Activity Center. The trail is 5.6 kilometers long, with the first 1.6 kilometers being stone steps, and the rest being primitive trails. The trail rises 1,300 meters in total, and the round trip takes approximately 8 hours. It is a challenging hike that requires thorough preparation and physical fitness. From the summit, you can overlook Sun Moon Lake and enjoy the scenery of the Central Mountain Range. Due to the significant elevation gain, the trail passes through various forest ecosystems, from low-altitude broadleaf forests to mid-altitude coniferous and broadleaf mixed forests. The trail is rich in biodiversity, with a wide variety of birds, insects, and animals, making it an excellent route for ecological observation.
