"Playing for Formosa - The Formosa Music Association" was founded in early 2015 by a group of young musicians and artists, hoping to do their part, upholding the spirit of truth and empathy, bringing beauty and hope to the people.
In the 21st century, an era of rapid changes in culture and technology, we firmly believe that the truth, goodness, and beauty of music have an irreplaceable value.
 

Therefore, the association hopes to combine music with local culture in a cross-class and cross-cultural way. Formosa is our home, and it holds a special place in our hearts. In Portuguese, it also represents beauty. We hope to spread beauty, goodness, and empathy to the audience through our sincere passion for music, inspiring their curiosity and inner exploration. Let music enter the people, and the people enter music, improving the quality of people's lives.

Purpose

The association is a people's organization that combines cultural, educational, and public welfare concepts.
We hope to create a new ecosystem that can carry accomplished musicians, who care for each other and listen to the beauty in life with the general public.

1. Culture: Expanding the cultural field, balancing depth and breadth

We hope to hold a series of various indoor and outdoor concerts through diverse, high-quality performance formats, creating opportunities for young musicians. In the process of effort, we will combine with local culture, gradually establishing an open music platform where various musicians can exchange with each other. We also seek to expand the field of music art, cross-domain and cross-border cooperation, and spread the beauty of music to more people.

2. Education: Scientific educational methods, learning music in a healthy and happy way

Through scientific education methods, we make music popular, allowing more people to participate and learn music in a healthy way.

We believe that music allows learners to grow and discover through self-expression. We hope to make music more universal, and different from the past separation of composition and performance. We strive to provide more comprehensive and systematic attention to music education.

3. Public Welfare: Paying attention to social issues, serving the underprivileged groups
The association will make efforts in public welfare and give back to society. The efforts include: performing for free in various institutions, helping underprivileged groups participate in music learning, cooperating with public welfare and charity organizations, and combining with different social care issues, bringing the aspect of music that comforts people's hearts into the public.
