The Gugang Lake Scenic Area is located in the southwest corner of Jincheng Town. Gugang Lake is the only remaining natural lake in Kinmen. It is surrounded by Liangshan, Hongshan, and Damao Mountain, which are covered with lush greenery. Willows by the lake gently sway with the wind. The "kingfisher" bird, which cannot be seen on Taiwan Island, often forages on the grassy areas, and it is also a gathering place for various water birds. The beautiful scenery of Gugang Lake can calm the mind. It is not only suitable for children to run and jump on the grassy area, but also a great experience to take a walk in the afternoon and visit the Gugang Pavilion. There is a traditional-style Gugang Pavilion on Gugang Lake. Built in 1964, it was designed by Mr. Zhuang Wunan, a painter, temple restoration expert, and antique collector from Danshui, Taipei. The square three-story building complements the green waves of Gugang Lake, creating a beautiful scene like a Chinese painting, exuding an elegant atmosphere. From the top of the Gugang Pavilion, you can enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. On a sunny day, the lake sparkles, and the scenery of the lake and mountains portrays a peaceful holiday mood.
