Century-old Art Town—culture tucked away in the alleys!
Once the old dormitory of the Tax Sub-bureau, it is now the Beigang Craft Industry Center, nicknamed the “Century-old Art Town.” Next to the brick wall embedded with wine jars, it gathers local historians and traditional crafts, radiating alley-culture surprises throughout downtown Beigang.
Built in 1964, Beigang Craft House sits where the jar wall stands, at the former Tax Sub-bureau dormitory address inside the lanes near Chaotian Temple. Officially opened on 20 December 2013, it serves as a hub for Beigang’s religious craft industry, preserving the rustic charm of 1950s street-side old houses while adding artistic flair, attracting artisans, local historians, and travelers who love history and culture to discover the beauty of Beigang’s traditions and religious crafts.
