The intertwining of old and new tiles transform the Ximen old apartment into a trendy coffee and tea shop
Cafe tailuu
Tailuu is a word in Taiwanese, and also one of the words that evolved from Japanese.
Initially choosing the Ximen old apartment was because of the Taiwanese and Japanese nostalgic atmosphere here, hoping to create a new look by using bold designs that mix old and new, so that people can feel the rich cultural foundation of Ximen when entering the store, while still maintaining a modern feel.
The first floor's warm pink tile surface is the main axis of the floor. Using the principle of graphic design, the entire floor is designed as a large tile concept, creating a visual effect of expanding the originally small space. The staircase uses a new material/walk board with a design resembling broken pebbles, which not only guides customers upstairs, but also conveys the design language of the second floor.
The second floor continues the pebble-like wall design, and by using a large number of succulents and foliage plants, combined with a full-length mirror wall to enhance the sense of space and natural atmosphere; the bright red metal tables and the lake green seats create a modern indoor style; the restroom is covered with nostalgic orange floral tiles, combined with dim red lighting and house music, allowing customers to experience the mixed atmosphere of old and new spaces.
The third floor retains the original appearance of the old house, and only uses green and white tiles to build a series of elevated steps around the space to echo the original walls and floors, creating a perfect comfortable space that combines new and old.
We use精选 coffee beans from the Panama Firestone Estate, with a rich berry aroma and the lively acidity of white grapes, rich and sweet, with a balanced sour and sweet taste, ending with the aftertaste of honey, rich, smooth, and sweet. The tea drinks specially select Taiwan's oolong and black tea; the pastries focus on various handmade cakes, such as orange-scented salted egg yolk pound cake, banana toffee pound cake, walnut cinnamon roll, and chocolate madeleine. More limited-time flavors will be launched in the future, please look forward to it.
