In the 21st year of the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty (1894), the Litingxiang Cake Shop chose to open a store near the bustling Rushan Temple in Luzhou. When the third generation took over, they recognized the development potential of the commercial hub Datongchen, crossed the Tamsui River, and opened a new branch on the north street of Dihua Street.
Now, the baking industry has entered an unprecedented era of competition. The century-old cake shop, now in its fifth generation of succession, is striving for innovation. In addition to preserving classic items such as the "Siping" cake, green bean cake, and salt plum cake, known as the "four beauty" (referring to snacks in the Taiwanese dialect), as well as offerings for deities such as the "peaceful tortoise" and "longevity peach," they have also developed small cream puffs with flavors such as chocolate, coffee, and lemon, commonly known as "niumuli" or "Taiwanese macarons," showcasing a new atmosphere for this time-honored shop.
