On the courtyard of the Cisheng Temple, vendors have set up row upon row of tables and chairs. Two of the stalls sell the same original pork rib soup. The types of food, their flavors, and prices are almost identical, as they are relatives who both use pork ribs to make the soup. The main ingredient is white radish. When making the soup, the freshness of green onions, the mildness of old ginger, and the flavor of celery all contribute to creating a warm and comforting soup, after which they are all discarded, leaving only the white radish, like a lonely star accompanied by the moon, clearly and simply presented. The soup is clear, sweet, and smooth, with the pork ribs cut into small pieces, fresh, tender, and with an extremely accurate softness.
