The Taipower Shimen Wind Farm is Taiwan's first commercial wind power generator set. The overall installation takes into account visual proportions and aesthetics, striving to integrate with the local environment and landscape. To meet the needs of local tourism development, various high and low voltage cable pipelines were placed underground, and a pedestrian walkway and observation deck were built, along with parking lots, restrooms, real-time operation information boards, and lighting, to enrich the landscape resources. There are a total of six wind turbines in the entire area, with red and white stripes, which are different from the pure white shape of Penghu. They are quite eye-catching when viewed from a distance. Shimen not only has a rich marine landscape, but its unique terrain also makes wind power resources another characteristic of Shimen. By walking along Shimen towards the Shiba Wanggong Temple, you can see a row of giant wind turbines standing on the mountain head in the distance, which is the Shimen Wind Farm. Wind power generation not only reduces carbon dioxide emissions but also becomes a unique tourist attraction on the North Coast. The park is planned with a wooden boardwalk for tourists to walk on, and there is an observation platform below, offering beautiful scenery, making it highly recommended for a stroll.
