What is a Storyteller?
Storytelling, or "shuoshu", is a traditional way of conveying stories. Usually, the audience gathers around the storyteller, forming a circle, and the storyteller performs on a small stage formed by the crowd.
Through oral transmission and heart-to-heart teaching, the storyteller shares his experiences and observations, whether by embellishing the story itself or using dialects to present it to the audience. The storyteller attempts to find the most relaxed and attractive way of communication through interaction with the audience. In this back-and-forth exchange, it is not only information, stories, or knowledge that is conveyed, but also the culture, history, and heritage of the place.
And what is the Beitou Storyteller?
We conduct activities in the way of a storyteller, but... while telling stories, we also lead the audience into real situations, inviting everyone to become part of the story weaving process!
Through this method, we try to achieve:
I. Community interpersonal communication
II. Cultural inheritance
III. Conveying the concept of a friendly environment in Beitou.
