"Beitou" always brings endless culture, legends, and stories. After getting off the New Beitou MRT station, following the rising hot spring mist, the beautiful hot spring scenery full of greenery ahead is Beitou Park.
Beitou Park consists of urban planning parks such as Beitou No. 1, No. 2, No. 4, No. 54, and No. 55, covering an area of 61,129 square meters. The first thing that catches the eye is the entrance fountain completed in 1998. Every day at fixed times, it features lights and water dancing to music, bringing new vitality to this culturally rich old area of Taipei. Along Guanyin Road, passing through rare old trees such as Melaleuca and Tung tree, they witness the rich history of the century-old Beitou Park. Along the way, you will also pass by the first green library built by the Taipei City Library, emphasizing energy efficiency and carbon reduction, which brings a literary atmosphere to Beitou Park. The fountain in front of the entrance is also a favorite location for movie shootings. Going along the Beitou Creek, the world's only "Beitou Stone" named after a Taiwan place name is produced here, although it is no longer visible now.
Going up along the small path, you reach the side of Zhongshan Road. In addition to the open-air hot spring baths of Beitou, there is also the historical building "Meiting" nominated by Yu Youren, which is now planned by the Taipei City Government's Tourism and Communication Bureau as the Meiting Visitor Center, providing the most considerate service for visitors. Also well-known is the Hot Spring Museum, with wooden latticed windows and red brick buildings combining Japanese and Western styles, still exuding the unique scent of sulfur, giving a sense of the beauty of the architecture from the Japanese colonial period. The surrounding gentle streams and swaying greenery make you feel like returning to the old, leisurely times.
Beitou Park has countless old stories and various kinds of animals and plants gathering. There are also famous attractions such as the Geothermal Valley nearby. Why not take a relaxing and enlightening trip on the weekend? I am sure you will return with a full heart.
