Yuanli Township in Miaoli County is Miaoli's granary, with a vast rice planting area of 3,000 hectares. The organic rice field, established in 2004 by ShanShui Rice Company, is a hope workstation aimed at promoting organic rice cultivation and educating the public about the value of rice and the importance of cherishing it. The Organic Rice Field is located next to ShanShui Rice Company, with the "classroom floating on rice waves" as its center. Surrounding it are an old grain warehouse converted into a display room for ancient agricultural tools, a DIY classroom, organic rice fields, and an organic fruit and vegetable garden. The rice field adopts the "duck-rice coexistence" organic farming method, where adorable little Muscovy ducks help with farming, providing an opportunity for people to get up close and personal with the rice field ecosystem. Next to it is an organic fruit and vegetable garden, where visitors can play in the mud and experience the joys and hardships of organic farming firsthand. Additionally, the indoor area features interactive explanatory displays, a "rice-playing cafe" offering diverse and healthy rice-based meals, and a souvenir sales area. The Organic Rice Field is a natural learning center dedicated to promoting organic farming and environmental ecological education. With a spirit of "100% rice-playing," it offers creative and engaging experience-based activities that allow children and adults to learn and laugh together. The Organic Rice Field also invites everyone to participate in harvesting and planting rice according to different seasonal and rice growth processes, becoming a modern farmer for a day and experiencing the taste of hard work and sweat. Due to its emphasis on organic farming, the Organic Rice Field adopts a duck-assisted rice cultivation method, where little ducks help with farming. Watching the bright yellow ducks roam between the rice seedlings will bring smiles to both adults' and children's faces. The building is divided into several areas, including a multi-functional classroom for DIY activities, a display area for explanations and displays of rice-related items, a restaurant serving organic rice meals, and a souvenir shop selling cute merchandise. However, as it prides itself on 100% rice-playing, the most exciting aspect is not the hardware but the various experience activities and guided tours that match the seasons and rice growth processes. These include one-day farmer, field experiences, harvesting, planting rice, stone painting, eco-friendly handmade soap, and biological kaleidoscope DIY activities.
