The entrance to the Shuishe Waterfront Trail is located on the left side of Shuishe Pier, and it is an important pedestrian route connecting Shuishe Pier to Jiulong Mouth. The entire trail is an accessible slope, making it very suitable for families with children. The trail is gentle and easy to walk, and it runs along the wooden boardwalk by the lake, passing through Chaowu Pier and straight to Jiulong Mouth.
The trail is lined with lush green trees, and even in the peak summer months, it doesn't feel hot. There are rest areas along the way where visitors can take a break and enjoy the view. You can lean on the railing and watch the yachts sail by, or admire the calm lake surface reflecting the sunlight, creating a dazzling display of light and shadow. On misty days, the Xuanzang Temple on the Qinglong Mountain range appears like a ancient temple in a Chinese painting, evoking a sense of nostalgia and tranquility. The Cien Pagoda on Sabalan Mountain is always visible from various angles along the trail, standing tall like a sword, guarding Sun Moon Lake.
As you walk to Jiulong Mouth, you'll find an artificial floating island covered with wild ginger flowers on the lake. You might even spot a night heron hiding in the flowers, waiting to catch its prey. If you're still energetic, you can continue to the Wenwu Temple staircase or climb up to the opposite Zhuishi Garden for another adventure. At night, looking back at Shuishe Pier from the trail, the hotels and restaurants shine brightly, like colorful gemstones, making the scenery even more enchanting.
