Neihu Forest Elementary School is located alongside Provincial Highway 151, the road leading to Xitou Forest Recreation Area. After the 921 Earthquake, due to repeated setbacks in acquiring land for relocation, Neihu Elementary became the last of 293 schools to be rebuilt, and it is a forest eco-school dedicated to developing ecological education. Neihu Forest Elementary School was reconstructed entirely with logs as building materials, following the architectural plan. The total cost was approximately NT$75 million. In planning, every effort was made to minimize damage to the original ecology of the site, and the design fully incorporates local landscape features. The entire school is divided into teaching areas, ecological zones, specialized classrooms, administrative areas, dormitory areas, and activity areas. It is a forest elementary school nestled among dense woods.
