In Taichung’s Beitun District, there are cultural landscape bridges with distinct themes such as the Xin Taohua Yuan Bridge, Romantic Lovers Bridge, Dacheng Fresh Bridge, Blue Sky White Cloud Bridge, and Hai Tian Bridge. These bridges connect to Highway 4, providing convenient transportation for residents traveling to Beitun, Dacheng, Taiping, and other areas. The uniquely designed landscape bridges exude a special charm day and night, and the public loves to take photos and unwind here. Additionally, because traffic is light and the area is open, it’s ideal for riding bicycles together after dusk, enjoying the tranquil riverside scenery while gazing at the increasingly beautiful bridge cluster.
Xin Taohua Yuan Bridge, the earliest constructed among the Dacheng landscape bridges, is also the largest. Its appearance is a white, culvert-style structure, with pedestrian walkways on both sides for leisurely strolls and scenic viewing. Notably, the maple leaf decorations on the walkways are one of Dacheng’s local features.
The side view of the bridge resembles a romantic piano and is called the Romantic Lovers Bridge. It is built of slanted arch steel pipes, has a pink exterior, and features ground-level glass design, making it a pedestrian-only elevated bridge.
The classical and elegant Blue Sky White Cloud Bridge pairs blue and white, adopts the style of the Tian Tan extension, and echoes the sky’s blue and white clouds. At dusk, the bridge’s lamps glitter, reflecting the night sky like an entrance to a fantasy park, which is very captivating.
The fountain-like ribbed Dacheng Fresh Bridge symbolizes the verdant forest scenery of the Dacheng area. Because of its distinctive curved, symmetrical design, it resembles a soaring butterfly, earning it the nickname “Butterfly Bridge.” Under the sparkling nighttime lights, the bridge looks like an amazing light and water show; the green arched steel beams resemble water columns, with bright blue lights at the beam ends, creating a vibrant, dynamic beauty that attracts many photographers day and night.
The landscape bridge cluster is adjacent to Xin Du Ecological Park and the Dacheng Scenic Area, allowing a morning visit to both spots, followed by a sunset walk along the landscape bridges, enjoying starlight and a romantic, wonderful day. Hai Tian Bridge is a beautiful white, mountain-shaped bridge spanning the dry creek’s east and west roads from Song Zhu V Road. Its name implies “sea and sky in one line, hearts and hands connected.” The Romantic Lovers Bridge’s overall pink appearance gives a romantic, warm feeling; for more details, see the Dacheng Pink Lovers Bridge attraction page.
