新北市淡水區鄧公路15號
Yinshan Temple, the Dingguang Buddha Temple in Danshui, is a rare ancient building in Taiwan. During the history of temples in Taiwan's Qing Dynasty, there were only two Dingguang Buddha Temples: one was the Dingguang Nunnery in Zhanghua, central Taiwan, and the other was Yinshan Temple in Danshui. Its followers were also a small number of Hakka immigrants from western Fujian, and it also functioned as the Tingzhou Guild Hall. It is an important representative in the history of Taiwan's development. It is now listed as a second-class cultural heritage site. Yinshan Temple not only has important historical value, but its architecture has undergone very few changes since its initial construction, with a high level of originality. It is a rare value for the study of Taiwan's architectural history. Yinshan Temple was built in the second year of Daoguang (1822 AD), and has now existed for more than 188 years. It is not only a very valuable ancient temple in the history of Taiwan's development, but also has specific contributions and historical evidence for the development of the Tingzhou people in Taiwan. Moreover, it has become the only complete one remaining in the whole country (the Dingguang Buddha Temple in Zhanghua is no longer complete). Yinshan Temple in Danshui has basically preserved its original appearance from the early Daoguang period. Even the roof tile sculptures, which are extremely difficult to preserve in general temples, are still well preserved, which is really surprising, showing the exquisite craftsmanship of that time.
