台北市文山區萬壽路115號
The Guizhong Temple is located at the foot of Guizhong Mountain in the Wenshan District of Taipei City. It was founded in 1890, when County Magistrate Wang Binlin of Tamsui brought a spiritual relic from the Yongle Palace in Shanxi Province to Taiwan. Originally constructed with thatched roofs, it has undergone careful planning, renovation and expansion by predecessors, eventually becoming its current scale.
The Guizhong Temple mainly worships the Master of Purity and Yang, Lü Dongbin, whose official name is "Fuyou Emperor," but is commonly known as "Xian Gong" or "Lü Zu" in the folk. Lü Zu lived during the Tang Dynasty, was well-versed in literature, passed the imperial examination, and served as a county magistrate. Because of his sincere devotion to the Dao, he met the Master of Right Yang, Zhongli Quan, who enlightened him with the dream of a pot of millet, tested him with the transformation of stone into gold, and taught him the inner Dao, eventually attaining the Dao and becoming an immortal. However, because he had the great vow to "save all people," he frequently appeared among the people to "help the world and save the people, relieve difficulties and rescue from calamities," leaving many beloved and touching miracles, making him the most approachable and familiar Daoist deity among the people of our country.

The temple area is vast, with ancient trees towering high, their dense shade shading the sun. The entire temple consists of four major halls: the Chunyang Treasure Hall, the Lingxiao Treasure Hall, the Great Sage Hall, and the Great Achievement Hall. The main halls are built along the mountain, grand and solemn, with the buildings mostly constructed from sturdy blue stone, and some halls covered with copper tiles, which can endure for thousands of years. The Chunyang and Lingxiao halls are connected by a long corridor, with pavilions, pools, terraces and verandahs, where flowers bloom all year round, and the air is fresh. You can enjoy the panoramic views of Taipei City, and it is known as "the first sacred mountain in the world." The temple frequently hosts various large-scale religious activities and participates in international Daoist propagation affairs, gaining widespread fame.

After the completion of the Maokong Cable Car, transportation has become even more convenient, and visitors are welcome at any time.
