"Tienneng Temple" is located in the inner bend area of Maokong, and belongs to the "Yiguandao" sect's temple. The exterior is a traditional Chinese palace-style building, three stories high, with white railings, orange tiles, and red columns, solemn and dignified. It is said that when the temple was first built, a well-digging company was invited to find water on the temple grounds. The company dug in several places, even as deep as twenty feet, but still could not find water. Therefore, the chairman at the time informed the believers in various parts of Taiwan to pray to heaven for mercy and water on the same evening. Three days later, a miraculous spring suddenly emerged at the back of the retaining wall, clear and sweet, with excellent water quality. Because of gratitude for the great mercy of heaven, it was named "Tienneng Spring."
The main hall on the first floor of "Tienneng Temple" has the Maitreya Buddha, who is always smiling, carefree and happy, in the center, with Bodhisattva Guanyin and Guan Sheng Di Jun on either side. On holidays, various courses and activities related to cultivation are held, with the purpose of restoring one's original nature, awakening one's innate goodness and abilities, and achieving the highest goodness by helping oneself and others.
In addition, "Tienneng Temple" promotes vegetarianism. Next to the temple, there is a small shop selling various vegetarian pastries and tea snacks, which are very popular among the public.
