Located at the entrance of the second harbor of Kaohsiung Port, this site spans 3.42 hectares in total. Although the historical Red-Hair Harbor community has now become a part of the past due to the relocation of residents, the living culture and spiritual essence of the Red-Hair Harbor people remain eternal memories and legacies within the park. The Red-Hair Harbor Cultural Park is a collaborative creation of the Kaohsiung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Red-Hair Harbor Cultural Association. It features six major zones: the 360-degree rotating restaurant inside the "Koumen Tower," the Seaview Platform, the Exhibition Hall, the Outdoor Exhibition Area, the Skywalk, and the Wharf with Waiting Room. Dine in the rotating restaurant converted from the original "Koumen Tower," where the evening sunset and bustling cargo ships shining on the rippling waves create a vivid picture. The adjacent Seaview Platform is Taiwan's unique spot for the closest-up viewings of the grand spectacle of "large ships arriving at port." Visitors can witness large vessels entering/leaving the port and container loading/unloading activities – also the park's most popular sunset-viewing location loved by tourists. Inside the Exhibition Hall, vivid multimedia interactive installations showcase the daily life memories of Red-Hair Harbor residents and historical & cultural materials passed down from ancestors. The experience transports visitors through time to explore the oceanic lifestyles from ancient times to modernity. The Outdoor Exhibition Area preserves the nostalgic human warmth of traditional homes. After the village relocation, only this corner of the park remains as our memorial. Through conceptual curation rather than exact physical replicas, we combine original house components with vernacular architectural techniques to recreate a virtual reality of life in the former Red-Hair Harbor community. The Skywalk spans above the Red-Hair Harbor Cultural Park and originates from a coal conveyer belt of the Taipower Dalin Thermal Power Plant. It offers visitors an unparalleled vantage point to admire the scenic seascapes of Red-Hair Harbor.
