The top first stop for visiting Dongyin is following Zhongzheng Road along Zhongzhu Port, passing the Baima Temple, you soon arrive at the Dongyin Tourist Center. Completed in 2003, the Dongyin Tourist Center stands on a hill south of Zhongzhu Port and beneath the Nanhqiao Helicopter Pad, at a short distance from both. Unlike the Minnan-style architecture of other visitor centers, the Dongyin Tourist Center is built on a hill, designed to lower its profile to withstand strong winds. It is clearly visible from Zhongzhu Port and serves effectively as a navigational landmark for visitors. The first floor of the tourist center houses a tourist information center and sales area, while the second floor features an exhibition. The rest area, designed with lighthouses and swallows as themes, allows visitors to immediately understand the ecological landscapes of Dongyin. A visit is definitely worthwhile, especially for first-time visitors. Given the abundance of tourist resources in Dongyin—from historical sites, coastal erosion landscapes, battlefield scenery, and native flora—visitors are advised to make the tourist center their first stop.
