The Hatta Yuichi Memorial Park was established to commemorate Mr. Hatta Yuichi, the builder of the Chianan Irrigation System. Hatta Yuichi was also known as the "Father of the Chianan Irrigation System". In 1910, Hatta Yuichi came to southern Taiwan to undertake the long exploratory work of the Wushan Reservoir and the Chianan Irrigation System. The Hatta Yuichi Memorial Park, located on the north side of Wushan Reservoir, was renovated in 2009 and officially opened in 2011, with a complete Japanese-style architecture complex. In order to more faithfully preserve the original appearance, the technicians in charge of the restoration project at that time even traveled to Hatta Yuichi's hometown - Ishikawa Prefecture to study the local architectural characteristics, and used Japanese carpentry techniques as the basis for the renovation, all in an effort to make the park closer to the aesthetic of Japanese-style architecture. The furniture in Hatta's house is arranged in the same way as it was back then, making people feel as if they have entered a time tunnel. The outdoor garden is a scenic spot with a small bridge and flowing water. The pond landscape is built in the shape of Taiwan, which further shows Hatta Yuichi's deep affection for the land of Taiwan.
