Origin: The mutton shop was founded before the Republic era by the grandfather of the proprietor’s wife. It was later inherited and run by his father- and mother-in-law. After his father-in-law passed away and his mother-in-law grew elderly, while his brother-in-law had no intention of taking over, the proprietor could not bear to see the century-old mutton shop disappear. He therefore promised his mother-in-law to carry on the business and began learning the culinary skills handed down from Grandma under her guidance. Business Philosophy: We specialize in freshly slaughtered, locally raised mutton, offering a whole-sheep feast. Among our dishes, the mutton sticky-rice cake has been beloved since Grandmother’s time. Although many vendors sell mutton in Taiwan, we are the only one offering mutton sticky-rice cake as a souvenir gift. To preserve the original quality and flavor, we insist on using local mutton, which costs more than twice as much as imported meat. Our ability to operate from before the Republic era to the present rests on our commitment to genuine ingredients, authentic taste, superb texture, and friendly service—values passed faithfully from one generation to the next.
