高雄市鳳山區新強里15鄰輜汽路281號
Weiwuying Urban Park was the product of decades of effort to be constructed and was once called the "Green Dream." It carried the motto: "Let children grow alongside grasses, flowers, and trees; let lovers wander through shade and blossoms; allow the elderly a place to rest, walk, and exercise; and give urban dwellers a warm green dream." Following undulating green hills with forests, grassy slopes, and preserved ancient trees continue to provide shade and homes for birds. It becomes like a forest within the city, producing fresh air and offering people peace to breathe freely. The forest holds abundant life; as you walk among it, listen carefully, observe closely, and remember to greet it quietly in reverence. Weiwuying was originally the location of the Eighth Army Command of the Republic of China Armed Forces, covering an impressive 67 hectares. When the military command relocated, the city government transformed 47 hectares into an urban park. To the park's southern side lies Lake Nan, Summer Avenue, a children's playground, and the three adjacent buildings of the former Weiwuying complex. The training yard where recruits once gathered and the watchtower have been renovated into observation decks, offering panoramic views of the whole park and featuring viewing platforms, cycling paths, and vast meadows. The central open lawn provides space for leisurely running, picnics, kite-flying, performances, and other activities.
