The Lujiu Creek Artificial Wetland covers an area of 16 hectares, located at the confluence of the Dahan Creek and its tributary, the Lujiu Creek, and gets its name from its shape resembling deer antlers. The Lujiu Creek Wetland was originally a garbage disposal site, but after being renovated by the New Taipei City Government's High Riverbed Engineering Management Office, it was transformed into an artificial wetland, utilizing aquatic plants and natural purification methods to improve the water quality of the Dahan Creek. It is the first wastewater treatment facility in New Taipei City to be certified by the Environmental Protection Administration. The Lujiu Creek Wetland mimics the natural environment of a wetland, situated in the transitional zone between land and water ecosystems, providing habitats for aquatic, terrestrial, and amphibious species. The urban wastewater flows through the ecological pools of the wetland, layer by layer, filtering out pollutants and alleviating river pollution. Additionally, the wetland has the functions of water conservation and flood regulation. The Lujiu Creek Ecological Wetland is an ideal place for a low-carbon eco-tour by bicycle, with the Dahan Creek bike path running through it. The wetland provides a good environment for the habitat restoration of various species, with hundreds of species of birds, insects, fish, plants, and amphibians living here, making it an excellent outdoor natural ecological classroom and recreation space. The creek is home to many small fish and other aquatic creatures, attracting numerous bird species to forage here. During specific seasons, the "Ecological Pool Area" is filled with beautiful lotus flowers.
