Xingtan is the only county-level scenic area in Hualien County. Initially seeming to suggest a star-shaped lacustrine formation, upon first arrival at Qixingtan, one is surely enchanted by its crescent-shaped bay known as Moon Bay. This vivid azure gravel bay ends where the towering Central Mountain Range rises beside the shoreline, with many captivated by this breathtaking encounter between mountain and sea. Located at the northeastern coastal region of Xincheng Township, Qixingtan is not only alluring for its arched bay, but also for its clear blue waters revealing visible gravel beneath the waves. Originally a quiet fishing village, its exceptional natural geographical environment, combined with simple sightseeing trails, seaside pavilions, an Observation Pavilion for viewing the sun and moon, as well as a Stargazing Plaza, allow visitors to fully immerse themselves in the azure sea and sky. The beach's lack of light pollution makes it ideal for stargazing, moonbathing, or simply listening to the melody of waves and gravel.
