The Tung Hua Village Café, located beside the second parking lot of the Tung Hua Trail, is a cherished mid-hike haven recommended by hikers and flower enthusiasts alike. The café’s owner, Ms. Chung, built this cozy stopover on her own land over four years ago. At the outdoor platform’s coffee seating, during the month of May in particular, the gentle flutter of paulownia blossoms falling onto shoulders paints a picture of leisurely ease, contentment, and poetic charm. Every corner of the dining area offers views of the blossoms coating the hilltops in white, delivering a visually stunning experience. Ms. Chung’s culinary skills are nothing short of remarkable; her signature dish, the "Slow-Braised Pork Knuckle Set with Soy Sauce," features tender shank meat and onions braised for an hour to achieve a silky texture and mouth-filling aroma. Another top-selling favorite is the "Teriyaki Pork Cutlet," skillfully prepared to perfection, offering a savory-sweet balance that leaves a lasting impression. Tung Hua Village’s cuisine blends Eastern and Western styles; even the Yunnan-Burma specialty "Spicy Sichuan Chicken" is prepared with exceptional finesse by Ms. Chung. Paired with a plate of moon shrimp fritters, the meals evoke a strong sense of international flavor while on the Tung Hua Trail. Beyond the food, the café is also famous for its pastries and coffees. Their pancakes come in multiple flavors—cranberry, chocolate, and maple syrup, to name a few. Sipping a latte, Blue Mountain coffee, or cappuccino (or brewing a pot of fragrant herbal "Old Man’s Tea") and leisurely resting beneath the trees while feeling the gentle breeze and enveloped in the atmosphere of drifting paulownia blossoms is pure bliss.
