“Jiahu Concert Hall”: Jiahu Performance Hall is an intimate venue along Yunlin’s coast designed for professional troupes, hosting music, dance, and theatre to elevate the region’s musical culture. Named for Chen Jia-hu, scion of a musical dynasty in Beigang, who founded the Beigang Orchestra; after his death his son Chen Zhe-zheng carried on the legacy by establishing the “Beigang Philharmonic Association.”
2F Permanent Exhibition
“Beigang Yā Māzǔ Special Exhibition”: The second-floor themed gallery is a permanent space dedicated to “Beigang Yā Māzǔ.” For more than three centuries the “Beigang Yā Māzǔ” procession has been listed as a National Important Folk Cultural Asset. On the 19th and 20th days of the third lunar month, Beigang’s streets overflow with crowds and the crackle of firecrackers, earning the nickname “Beigang’s Little New Year.” Its signature “live tableaux floats” are unique to the parade.
The “Beigang Yā Māzǔ” exhibition displays parade artifacts, screens five films about Māzǔ processions, offers interactive games, and presents a complete “Beigang Yā Māzǔ jiao-zhi ceramic procession,” recreating the festive grandeur and majestic spirit of the deity’s tour.
