The small islet of Zhongliu Island along the northern coast of Dongju is a small reef island that rises abruptly from the sea to the northwest of Fuqing settlement. It is also known as Yongliu Island and locally referred to by fishermen as "Yü-hao" (fishing port). No trees grow on the island, but its shellfish resources are exceptionally abundant. During low tide, the gravel beaches are exposed, connecting Fuqing Beach with the nearby Zhongliu Island seamlessly. At this time, villagers gather along the gravel shoreline in small groups to collect shellfish and seaweed, enjoying the bountiful harvest and ensuring a rewarding trip.
Note: When visiting this area, always stay attentively aware of tidal changes for safety.
