Hsu's steamed buns filled with clams have been hailed as the best in the world. Each neatly wrapped bun contains at least 20 clams, along with pork and Chinese cabbage fillings, enhanced with the original juice of the clams for extra freshness. The dough is made with spinach, sweet potato powder, and glutinous rice paste, giving it a chewy and soft texture. When you take a bite, it's sweet and refreshing. Hsu's steamed buns brought him instant fame, and he was able to sell off his excess clams. His wife, Lin Zhu-feei, joined the Tianma Mama organization and developed several other seafood snacks. Lin Zhu-feei said that in the Taixi area, most clam farms use a mixed farming method, taking advantage of the feeding characteristics of clams eating plankton and fish and shrimp eating algae to create the highest economic value. Using clams, milkfish, saltwater shrimp, and oysters from her own fishponds, she developed a diverse menu of seafood snacks.
