The Jinan Station is located on the north bank of the Da'an River and was inaugurated in 1922. It is one of the few remaining historic stations in the country. The name "Jinan Station" originates from the Chinese translation of the name of the Pingpu tribe settlement that once existed in this area. Jinan Station is one of the five remaining wooden stations along the Coastal Line, sharing a nearly identical architectural style with other stations such as Tanwen, Dashan, and Xinpu (characterized by a Japanese-Western fusion design with a gabled roof). Situated in the Dajia District of Taichung City, to the north of the Da'an River, Jinan Station is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration's Coastal Line. The station is an example of Japanese architecture, primarily influenced by British and German architectural styles. In addition to its elegant structure, the station features wooden window frames and columns that reflect international standards from its time, as well as walls constructed from a mixture of soil, rice chaff, and lime. The station has been remarkably well-preserved and serves as a standard wooden station house on the Coastal Line. Although it is a simple station, its valuable wooden architecture and historical significance have made it a secret haven for railway enthusiasts. Built in 1922, Jinan Station is a standard wooden station on the Coastal Line. Its most distinctive feature is the "ox-eye window" located high on the side, resembling the eyes of an ox. From the platform, one can clearly see these prominent windows set high above. The surroundings of the station are lush with greenery, providing a cool retreat even during the hottest summer days.
