Heavenly and Human Realm

2017-07-03
台北市南港區經貿二路1號
Outside the Nangang Exhibition Center stands the public art piece "The Realm of Heaven and Humanity." Like the sweet spring of life, it nourishes the empty soul, and thus joyfully steps forward with a beautiful rhythm.

Two giant hands, one pointing to the earth and the other to the sky, with their fingers touching, marking the boundary between heaven and humanity. The colorful rings represent endlessness and infinite extension. The boundary between heaven and humanity can foresee billions of kilometers across thousands of years of space and time, and despite one's entire life's effort, it may yield no slightest achievement. Yet, it can also allow thoughts to flow unimpeded, as if crossing the heavens and the underworld, and with a mere flick of the fingers, one can travel through countless generations and realms of the universe.

Colorful kiln-fired glass with nine interlocking rings separate the natural world from the civilized world. This boundary is at the same level as "Between Thoughts" and "Self and Object Infinite," and the circular colors also rhythm with the "Song of the Four Seasons" and the "Dance of Life," providing the perfect conclusion to the entire concept.

Some people suddenly attain enlightenment, while others are left with echoes of sorrow in the wind. The answers are so varied, but only when civilization fully understands and coordinates with nature can civilization itself extend infinitely.
