In 1969 (the 58th year of the Republic of China, which corresponds to the year of Geng Wu), a local benefactor, Mr. He, donated the land for the temple, and local gentry were invited to discuss and collectively contribute to the fundraising efforts for the construction of the temple. As a result, the Fenglian Temple (also known as the Guanyin Temple) was established, with Mr. He You as its first manager.
The main deity enshrined in this temple is the Goddess of Mercy, Guanyin. The other deities enshrined alongside her are the Five Grains Emperor, the Goddess of Childbirth, the King Yanping, and the God of Good Fortune.
After renovations were completed in 2006 (the 95th year of the Republic of China), a WenChang hall was added beside the temple. The deities enshrined in this new hall are the Emperor WenChang, the Emperor Guan Sheng, and the God of Wealth.
