Dadaocheng is the primary birthplace of modernization ideals in Taiwan. The eminent individuals and righteous people from Dadaocheng demonstrated a broad worldview and deep cultivation of new culture. Despite the high-pressure environment of Japanese colonial rule, they sowed seeds for new culture and nurtured resilient new cultural blossoms.

The Taiwan New Culture Movement Memorial Hall will revive the unparalleled historical grandeur of Dadaocheng, commemorating these fearless pioneers of new culture. Besides actively collecting and exhibiting historical materials related to the New Culture Movement, the Hall continues to integrate and revitalize precious cultural assets connected to Dadaocheng. It investigates significant historical figures’ activity sites and ancestral homes, linking them into a cultural historical trail, and transforming the area into the "Dadaocheng Historical and Cultural Arts Center." This effort aims to turn Dadaocheng into an open cultural history ecological museum. In the future, visitors can walk Dadaocheng's streets, hearing cultural and historical workers recount compelling stories of patriotic intellectuals and refined scholars from the self-aware era. Within the Hall, historical ambiance of the period will be re-created through diverse exhibition halls. One may savor contemporary new literature, listen to contemporary new ballads, watch contemporary plays, and appreciate contemporary art forms in different exhibition spaces.
