Beigang Braised Lamb – A Century-Old Shop

Origin: This esteemed lamb meat shop was founded by my wife's grandfather before the establishment of the Republic of China. The business was then passed down to my wife's parents, who continued to manage it. However, after my father-in-law's passing, my mother-in-law, now advanced in age, and with my wife's uncle showing no interest in taking over, I, the current owner, did not have the heart to see this century-old shop disappear. I thus agreed to take over the business from my mother-in-law and began learning the traditional skills passed down from my great-grandmother-in-law. Business Philosophy: Our shop specializes in freshly slaughtered, locally-sourced lamb meat, offering a variety of whole lamb dishes, with our signature lamb meat rice cake being a standout. This traditional delicacy has been a favorite since the days of my great-grandmother-in-law. While there are many businesses in Taiwan selling lamb meat, ours is the only one offering lamb meat rice cakes as a specialty gift item. In order to maintain the original quality and taste, we insist on using locally-sourced lamb meat (which is more than twice as expensive as imported lamb meat). Our shop has been able to thrive since before the founding of the Republic of China due to our commitment to authenticity, adherence to traditional flavors, excellent texture, and warm service, allowing us to pass down our legacy from one generation to the next.
