The original site of Hualien's old train station repair plant was transformed through planning into a building primarily dedicated to solar power generation following the relocation of the old train station. After the completed 2015 re-painting and greening works, combined with the neighboring night market tourism area and the bicycle path connected to the Pacific Ocean, it became one of the new recreational spots. The vibrant murals paired with the blue skies and white clouds evoke the cheerful and bright sentiments implied by its name "Sunshine Power City." Inside, the original tracks of the early railway were preserved to maintain the historical traces. Connecting the city area to the Pacific Ocean landscape park, visitors can walk leisurely along the green paths without interference from bustling traffic, heading to the scenic park and seaside pavilion while enjoying the salty sea air and hearing the waves. Whether locals or tourists, everyone comes here to feel the ocean breeze, take a walk, exercise, or ride a bicycle—it is a delightful place combining historical uniqueness with leisure activities.
