Located in Banqiao District, the New Taipei City Government building stands 33 stories tall and is a striking presence in the Xinban Special District. Taking advantage of its height, the city government has set up a free observation deck on the 32nd floor. The sweeping views rival those from Taipei 101. Take elevators 18 or 19 straight to the free observation deck on the 32nd floor. From the lobby on the first floor, ride the elevator to the top; floor-to-ceiling windows on all sides let you take in major Banqiao landmarks—the Municipal Stadium, the Banqiao triple-transport hub, and even Taipei 101 and the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi skyscraper. On clear days you can see the Tamsui River and Yangmingshan; after dark, the glittering city lights and streaming traffic create a romantic panorama from the lookout.
