According to legend, Qingshui Rock was founded by a Quanzhou monk, Master Jue Tong, in 1728. He built a grass hut here, practiced asceticism, and studied Buddhism, which moved the believers. As time passed, the incense and fire grew, and the believers raised funds to build a temple. In 1758, the hut was rebuilt into a temple, with the Three Jewels Buddha as the main deity. The monks built an underground channel to guide the spring water and built a well next to the pit, named "Xixin Pool". The temple has a spacious area, surrounded by a quiet and elegant environment, dense woods, and a peaceful atmosphere. There is also a clear spring flowing through the area. Every spring, the scenery is vibrant and lively, and "Qingshui Spring" is known as one of the eight scenic spots in Zhanghua County. The main hall of the temple has two ancient plaques, "Ciyun Guangbei" and "Nanhai Cihang", which were made during the Qianlong and Daoguang periods. The temple has carved beams and painted buildings, with a strong ancient flavor, which evokes a sense of nostalgia. Behind Qingshui Rock, there is an "18-bend ancient road". The starting point of the ancient road has a parking lot, and you can walk from Qingshui Rock to Luming, near County Road 139, which is a good route for exercising and getting some exercise.
