The sprawling Hushan Rock Grand Buddha Temple was built in the third year of the Qing Dynasty’s Yongzheng reign and enshrines the Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara. The temple is solemn and elegant, its design resplendent. Rebuilt in 1959, the new structure is a two-storey palace-style complex.
Access to the temple is via a stairway flanked by a variety of greenery; set within the Grand Buddha Temple, this makes the sanctuary feel all the more secluded.
