Neihu Lake Gourd Island Suspension Bridge piers

2025-09-02
The bridge piers of the Huliuzhou Suspension Bridge in Neihu were built during the 1930s-1940s, when the brick and tile industry in the greater Taipei area was at its peak. The bridge served as a major route for the transportation of materials and personnel between Neihu and Nangang. Although the suspension bridge has disappeared with urban development, leaving only one side of the bridge piers, it still serves as a historical witness to the brick kiln industry in Taipei and the history of river transportation, possessing significant historical value.
