The location of Hsinchu is near the estuary of the Kejia River and at Jincheng Lake, which was formerly known as the “Devil's Pond”. The area was reclaimed and after restoration; it is now an important habitat for wild birds in Northern Taiwan. There are at least 250 kinds of birds in this area; hence; it becomes the biggest characteristic here.
