During the August 23rd Artillery Battle, Mr. Chiang Jing-kuo was bravely escorted by General Wang Sheng and General Ke Yuan-fen through intense fire, and he arrived at the front line by boat to discuss the battle situation with the lieutenant colonel who was holding the position. This led to future victories. In memory of the soldiers who courageously defended the area day and night under harsh conditions, the place was named "General's Castle." General's Castle was one of the key defense positions on Lieyu Island during the war. Located at the back of Jinmen, its main task was to monitor the "Jinlie Waterway" between the two Jinmen islands. The castle has 24 machine gun and rifle firing ports. With the end of the war, there are no longer any troops stationed here. After being taken over by the Kinmen National Park Administration, General's Castle was renovated into a small military museum, allowing visitors to step into the front line of the war and experience the tense atmosphere of the soldiers who defended this small space day and night.
