Praying at the General Li Guangqian Temple for a smooth military life is one of the common journeys taken by many brothers who once served in Kinmen! To commemorate the brave and heroic General Li Guangqian, who sacrificed his life in the Battle of Guningtou, a temple was built. Li Guangqian was from Pinglei County, Hunan Province. In 1949, during the tense situation of the Battle of Guningtou, when the Taiwan military was at a disadvantage, Li Guangqian still led his troops bravely into battle and was unfortunately killed in action. After the Battle of Guningtou, the local villagers, appreciating the soldiers' bravery in protecting the country and the people, established a ceremony outside the village to honor the fallen soldiers, enshrining General Li Guangqian as the main deity. The statue is dressed in a green military uniform, wearing a military cap with the emblem of the blue sky and white sun. The villagers regard him as the guardian deity of the ancient battlefield. In 1976, the Ministry of National Defense promoted Li Guangqian posthumously to the rank of Major General, and later the local people promoted him to the rank of Lieutenant General on their own. In 1997, it was re-planned and rebuilt into its current appearance, and a stone tablet was erected in front of the temple, indicating that General Li Guangqian now rests here. It is said that as long as the requests are legitimate, General Li will try his best to fulfill the people's wishes. If you come to Kinmen, you should pay a visit!
