嘉義縣梅山鄉604竹崎鄉雲潭步道
Located at the 71km mark on County Road 166, this trail requires a round-trip hike. Near the entrance, a fork in the road leads to the Shuisheliao Railway Station. The trail begins behind a building, descending along stone paths and stairs into a dense bamboo forest. The path features several "之" shaped switchbacks across the slope and steep stone staircases. Due to the high water vapor in the deep valley, the steps can be slippery, so caution is advised. Along the trail, there is a historic papermaking pool, where one can still discern the outline of the pool. This offers a glimpse into the past, where locals would soak bamboo in lime water, ferment it, and then press it into pulp to make paper. Further down, a pavilion offers a resting spot. The sound of running water signals proximity to the river. At the trail's end, a viewing platform offers a sight of the Cloud潭 Falls, cascading down a rocky cliff in a tiered formation. The falls consist of two layers, with a unique "瀑潭" (waterfall pool) formed by the specific geological structure and arrangement of the rocks. As water flows through the cracks and falls, it resembles white silk. Cloud潭 Falls is renowned as the most beautiful scenery in Ren-shou. Facilities: Accessible restrooms (near the parking lot) Restroom Hours: 8:00-17:00
