The Saku Trail is located on the eastern slope of Sha-Po-Yan Mountain. Originally a mining road for the Taiwan Cement Jingshan Mine, it was planned by the Forestry Bureau in 1993 to become the current trail. The Saku Trail is approximately 3,950 meters long, with an elevation ranging from 70 to 495 meters. The entire path consists of cement roads, gravel paths, or natural dirt trails, and the one-way trip takes about 90 minutes. This trail is close to the western suburbs of Hualien City and is highly suitable for family outings and hiking. Although the trail is only four kilometers long, the Forestry Bureau has planned four scenic overlooks, allowing visitors to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of Hualien from different elevations and angles. Along the way, the trail is rich in natural ecological resources and features beautiful landscapes. Watching sunrises, night views, and the starry sky will leave visitors mesmerized. No matter when one visits, the trail offers a unique experience.
